At Bartell Farm, we try to raise our foals in as natural of setting as possible. While they are all born in the barn, we move them back out to the pasture with the herd as early as possible. This allows them to learn how to be horses. We try to get them used to people and handling as much as possible while in a group setting. We have found it is best for our foals and operation to hold off halter training babies until later in life, closer to weaning. This reduces strain on their head and necks with fewer baby tantrums. All foals will be sold at weaning with the ability to lead. We also microchip and brand all of our foals before they leave. We also want to remind any prospective buyers that Morgan horses develop slower than other breeds and should not start any saddle training until 3-4 years old. This will reduce strain on their back and leg joints and increase their soundness into later years of life. (Many Morgan's can be ridden well into their 20's).

Born March 2025, this Palomino filly also carries the dun gene, making her a Dunalino. At this point, we plan to retain this filly as she exhibits our idea of ideal traits for a working western foal, with the added bonus of having a cream and Dun gene. We are very excited to watch this foal develop and plan to make this cross again. $350

Seven is our 2006 Homozygous cream stallion (Bay with 2 cream genes). Seven will always pass along a cream gene to his babies (makes palomino's and buckskins). He also passes along his strong bone, good muscling and all his babies have solid minds.
Tycho is our 2022 Homozygous Dun, bay stallion. He will always pass along one of his dun genes to his babes. While he is still young, we have high hopes for this gentleman. He so far exhibits all the traits we want in a stallion. Strong bone, good muscle, easy going attitude and high trainability.
Ledoux is our 2022 Fully Gaited stallion. In 2023 we acquired 4 gaited Foxton mares from Colorado. After that, Ledoux joined the crew to allow us to add gaited foals to our program. He is from proven working ranch horses and we are very excited to watch him grow up.
