Our Philosophy
Our broodmare band is incredibly important to us! We are very blessed to have collected the mares we have. To ensure transparency, all breeding stock have been tested for Pssm1. Our entire breeding herd is negative to we do not have to worry about any foals carrying it. We also have tested everyone for color, and most for gait. We are happy to test any foals for additional tests if asked. We prefer our broodmares to have saddle training if possible, but many of our mares have been acquired with rough pasts, many with little to no training when we got them. In those cases, the choice has been made to get them to a place that they are able to be handled and comfortable with humans, but not progressed to saddle training. Any young stock, or home grown stock are all ridable or will be.

2008, bay (EeAa) mare. Tested PSSM1 N/N. Jetta is my gentle souled steady eddy. This mare could have gone very far in the dressage show ring if I was not in college while she was in training. She has great movements, three true gaits, steady nerves and a mellow disposition allowing everyone to ride her. She has proven herself as a broodmare with her first born colt, Bar DS Storm Striker. She is the Dam to our hopeful Stud prospect, Bar DS Dun Mac. She is currently being leased as a riding mare.

2011, Bay (EEAa) Mare, 14.3hh. Tested PSSM1. Pearl was bred by my neighbor and friend, Shirley Champion. She has the ideal build for a working western horse and a gentle disposition that always tries to please. She was purchased as my mom’s retirement mare, but after being a dream to train and having the build I’m working towards in my breeding program, she has become a top broodmare. She produced a couple incredible sport horse foals and is now being leased out as a riding mare due to her incredible patience and disposition.

2004, 14.3hh, Chestnut (eeAa) with flaxen mane and tail mare. Tested PSSM1 N/N. A High Percentage Foundation mare with great hindquarter muscling and exceptional leg conformation accompanied by strong hooves. She is Double Sparfield bred. This beauty and brains mare is a wonderfully responsive ride with amazing athleticism. She was purchased in 2019 as a broodmare since she possesses the strong body frame I desire, but has been elected as my saddle horse while I breed other mares. She has had lots of wonderful training and is a blast to ride. My goal is to get her into the western dressage show ring at some point.

2015, smoky black (EEaaCr/N) mare. She came from a feral herd situation in Horseshoe Bend, Id along with Sierra, Penny, Rose and Eva. Her very correct legs, amazing feet (which have never been trimmed) and bloodlines were all selling points to add her to the mare line-up. She comes from some wonderful working western lines including Sparfield and Montana Harvest. More updates to come as she settles into being a domestic horse. Sadly due to her rough start in the world, we have opted to not saddle train her, but she has proven herself many times already as a wonderful broodmare.

2014, Black mare (Eeaa). Sierra came from a feral herd situation in Horseshoe Bend, Id along with Tia, Penny, Rose and Eva. She has great working western lines including the famous Montana Harvest, Looking Good and Sparfield. She is a 100% Foundation bred mare. Due to her feral start, she still has human trust issues so we chose to not start her under saddle. Luckily her fearful disposition does not pass onto her foals and she has proven herself to be an amazing broodmare.

2015, Smoky Black (EeaaCrn) mare. Tested PSSM1 Negative. Penny came from a feral herd situation in Horseshoe Bend, Id. along with Tia, Eva, Rose and Sierra. She has great working western lines including the famous Montana Harvest, Looking Good and Sparfield. She is a 100% Foundation bred mare. Due to an injury, she is blind in one eye, due to that injury, we have made the decision to not train her under saddle. She does have the disposition of a wonderful mare, but the vision loss has added an obstacle we decided its not worth stressing over to saddle train. It does not prevent her from being a wonderful mom so she is a great addition to our broodmare band.

Rose is half sisters to our wonderful Veranda Sierra Rose and Veranda Penny Smoke mares. They are proven producers, so when Rose came availably, we jumped at the opportunity to add her to our string. Due to a pelvis injury early in her life, we do not ride her, but it has not stopped her from producing some amazing foals for us. We plan to retain most her fillies.

2013, Chestnut mare (eeaa). Tested Negative for Pssm1. Jubilee came to us in 2020 from Grants Pass Oregon. She is High Percentage Foundation and has lots of Brunk and Old Government bloodlines and we are very excited to add her to our herd.

2006, Dark Chestnut (eeAA) Mare. PSSM1 Negative. Mersadies is my first ever homebred Morgan horse. She is the Morgan that won my heart and soul over to Morgan’s. This mare is a working beast with the build to match. She will work cows all day in the mountains yet is gentle enough to be my favorite and most trusted bareback mount. Her catty athleticism is such that not everyone can ride her, only because she can turn out from under an inexperienced rider. Due to respiratory issues, she is now fully retired.

2001 Palomino Mare. Tested Negative for Pssm1.Tess is a new addition to my broodmare band (2020). She was bred and raised by my friend and neighbor, Shirley Champion. She comes from some wonderful western Texas Morgan lines. I had the pleasure to help start this mare as a youngster and was a dream to ride. When given the opportunity to acquire this mare as an addition to my brood string, I jumped on it! She is kind and has a very stocky and correct build. Also she is a proven brood mare and will cross very nicely with Mic with a high probability of color.

Cadence is the reason for acquiring the Foxton mares, she is so impressive that we wanted more of those bloodlines added to the string. Rhythm comes from some strongly built mountain horses so we are very excited to see what she produces for us. We are still waiting on registration papers to come in on this mare. She is 100% foundation bred. She came to us in 2025 with a broken Metatarsal bone so will likely never be riding sound. We do hope we can get it to fuse to the point that she can be broodmare sound. She struggles with some trust issues, but is a gorgeous mare and we are hopeful to be able to add her to our broodmare band.

She will be saddle started lightly in 2026 and will be used in our saddle string and broodmare band. Her sire (WW Storm) is a brother to my favorite barren mare, Vintage China, I am hoping to blend these lines in through this mare. Very excited to watch her develop, but she is currently the most friendly filly on the place!

2013 Chestnut (eeAa) mare Standing at 14.1hh. She is 100% foundation bred. This sweet and adorable mare shares a lot of bloodlines with our Foxton Mares. She is Pssm1 negative and DOES carry one gait gene! (CA). With that gaited potential, she will probably exclusively be crossed with our gaited stallion, Bar Non Ledoux. That cross will make a heck of a western/mountain horse with a 50/50 chance of being Homozygous for gait. Lin does express gait naturally in the pasture, but sadly due to an old neck injury, she is not sound for riding. We are hoping she can carry some foals for us.
